Thanksgiving Break Outs - Will Tom the Turkey be Pardoned?

Last week, the week before Thanksgiving is always a hectic and crazy week for kids and teachers. The excitement of a very long weekend with family, friends, lots of traditions, food and shopping distracts from the typical classroom routine. So, to use this kid-energy, I introduced our Break Out Kits. It was a puzzle I found on the Breakout.edu website and centered around saving Tom the Turkey.

As you can see from the pictures, it was a great time by all! Students were using cooperation, communication, and problem solving to determine the combinations to each of the locks. The time it took setting the locks and getting prepared was definitely well worth every bit! Now, off to research another Breakout for December!
