Standard 2.0: Candidates who complete the program are educational leaders who have the knowledge and ability to promote the success of all students by promoting a positive school culture, providing an effective instructional program, applying best practice to student learning, and designing comprehensive professional growth plan.

Candidates will:

  • Recognizing differences in students' background and cultures and incorporating strategies to promote equity among all

  • Identifying student strengths and weaknesses and adapting instruction to meet personalized learning goals

  • Monitoring student progress through authentic balanced assessments

  • Using data to make instructionally based decisions

  • Model instructional strategies and coaching for growth

  • Gathering data from community stakeholders and including input for school initiatives

  • Maintaining clear and consistent communication

  • Conducting learning walks and classroom observations to offer coaching and feedback opportunities

  • Providing opportunities for peer observation and collaboration

  • Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies and digital resources as appropriate to meet learning targets and authentic student learning
